Most golfers are well aware of the price of a new set of irons. However, most golfers are unaware of how easy it can be to refurbish their existing sets. Golf clubs are very personal. It is not always easy to transition to a new set, regardless of price. Given the option, many golfers would prefer to refurbish their existing irons rather than having to adjust to a new set. There are three primary components to any golf club: the club head, shaft, and grip. The problem may be isolated to just one aspect, and not always on every iron.
Most of the problems with a clubhead involve dents, scratches, and nicks on the sole and clubface. Sole issues can interfere with the swing and clubface issues affect the spin of the ball. Bear in mind that self-refurbishing a clubhead is really only possible with stainless steel irons.
